Over de Fotograaf / About the Photographer
When making portraits, shooting editorial images, or capturing events, I love to get close to witness all the details and experiences.
My name is James Thaddeus Petermeier — a Dutch-American photographer based in South Holland since 2017. My background in political science, social science research, and law shapes the way I see and document the world.
I am a portrait and event photographer, covering everything from art exhibitions to academic conferences and performances. I work close — wide-angles, personal shots, the details that tell the story.
My editorial work focuses on social issues, activism, and cultural experience. I photograph people standing up for what they believe — whether that's climate justice, LGBTQI+ rights, or social equality. As a contributing photographer for ZUMA Press Wire Service, my images have been published in The Times of London, BBC, The Guardian, and The Wall Street Journal.
If you’re interested in collaborating or want to discuss ideas, get in touch with me. I am available to work throughout the Netherlands and beyond.
