On May 21, 2025, pro-Palestinian activists demonstrated at the steps of the Rotterdam Stadhuis.
Their reasoning was the expected arrival of a Maersk cargo ship carrying F-35 parts on route to Israel.
The aim of these activists was to hold the Rotterdam's mayor and harbor master accountable for refusing to deny entrance of the ship.
While the demonstration began at Rotterdam stahuis, it ended with traffic blockades and an unplanned march towards Maersk's offices.
